Capture The Moment

Capture The Moment





This tutorial was written by me. 
Any similarity is purely coincidental. 
It was done using Gimp
 but can be done with any program

Template BP_template 176

scrapkit is a ftu scrapkit called SeaBreeze
from Mystic Raven Scraps here

font of choice
I used Easy Rider here

tube of choice
I used a tube from the artist Svetlana Makarova

Lets begin
Note: you can use your fav drop shadow as you go. I just do mine at the end.
         Auto crop layers as you go

open the template
delete the credits layer and the shadow layers that she has marked as delete.
Also the flower petals unless you decide to use the flowers on the template instead of
the flowers from the scrapkit.
I kept the flowers and the button on the template layers for now as I used them as a guide.
 We will delete them as we go.
Make the lg square 2 layer active ,
right click , alpha to selection, you should have marching ants around it now.
Add new layer above this , don't remove the marching ants
open paper 1 from the kit
on the paper , click on colors
colorize, play with this to get a color to match your tube in a dark shade
copy it when you are happy and go to your template new layer and Paste INTO
( be sure you use paste INTO , not paste)
anchor,
select none
delete the template layer lg square 2

On your toolbox you need to click on the Move Tool ,
(this way the next thing you click on won't open the colorize option. )
okay , on to our template
make lg square 1 active
alpha to selection
add new layer as before
open paper 2 and paste INTO your new layer
anchor
select none  and delete the template layer, lg square
the grid I left as is , you can change the color if you like
Make the lg rectangle bg layer active
alpha to selection
add new layer and copy paper 1 in the new color you created
and paste INTO your new layer
anchor
select none
delete the template layer lg rectangle bg
Make lg rectangle layer active
alpha to selection , add new layer
open paper 3 , copy and paste INTO your new layer
anchor,
select none
delete the template layer lg rectangle
make ring layer active
alpha to selection ,
fill with color of choice, I used the dark paper color
select none
make this rectangle bg layer active
alpha to selection
fill with white or color of choice
select none
make thin rectangle active
alpha to selection
add new layer
use paper 1 with the color you changed to and paste INTO
anchor
select none
delete template layer thin rectangle
add new layer
open element MRS_Border1
copy and paste
rotate so it lines up with the thin rectangle
I resized mine to fit
( scale/ unclick the chain and just resize the width to fit )
when you are happy with placement and size
anchor

make thin rectangle stitch layer active
alpha to selection
fill with white or color of choice
select none
make sm square active
alpha to selection
add new layer and copy paper 2
paste INTO
anchor
select none
delete template layer sm square
make sm square stitch active
alpha to selection and fill with white or color of choice
select none

add new layer above the flower 2 layer
we are just using the template flower layer as a guide for placing the flower
open flower 5 from the scrapkit
copy and paste into position and scale as desired
when you are happy with placement and size , Anchor
delete flower 2 layer of template
repeat for flower 1
I duplicated and added another flower . See my tag for reference
make button bg active , alpha to selection
fill with white or color of choice
select none
add new layer above button  ( we are just using the template button layer as a guide for ours)
open button element  from scrapkit , I used button 2
copy and paste on new layer , scale
when you are happy with the placement
anchor
delete button layer of template
make lg rectangle layer active
using the magic wand click inside the circle
add a new layer
move below the lg rectangle
click select / grow 2
copy your tube and paste INTO
before you anchor resize and position it as you like
when you are happy with it
Anchor , select none
mode/ soft light
mode / screen
NO Drop Shadow to this layer

go to your top layer and add new layer
open butterfly element , I used butterfly 1
copy and paste ,
click filters /decor/add bevel -2
resize and rotate
when you have it sized and positioned as you like it

add new layer
copy your tube ,
Paste and position as you like it
anchor
Add new layer
open word art
I resized mine to 400 px width to start with
copy and paste
click layer /transform/ rotate couter clockwise 90
position and resize if needed
when you are happy with it
Anchor
duplicate layer
alpha to selection the bottom of the two
click select /grow 2
fill with white
select none
on top layer of word art
click filters /decor/ add bevel -2
merge the two word art layers

click on background layer
add new layer
copy element berries
paste
click on layer / transform / flip vertically
position as you like ,
anchor
 I duplicated a few times and arranged them
see my tag for reference
Add drop shadow of choice  to each layer
( I use default for my main tube layer/ and
for the other layers I use  3/4/8/38 )
delete the white background layer
right click on any visible layer and merge Visible layers
click image / Autocrop image
scale to 600 px height
add new layer
add your credits to this layer and your license number if needed
click filters /Enhance/ sharpen - sharpness 20
Add your name and you are finished
